NHS App

The NHS App gives you simple, secure access to parts of your medical record and NHS services from your smartphone or computer.

At Parkwood Surgery, online access allows you to:

  • Order repeat prescriptions

  • View test results and some medical records (where enabled)

  • Update your contact details

  • Access NHS services and health information

Please note: Appointments cannot currently be booked online via the NHS App at Parkwood Surgery.

Why use the NHS App?

Using the NHS App helps you manage your healthcare more easily, without needing to contact the surgery for routine requests. It is available 24/7 and can save time for both patients and staff.

You can download the NHS App from the App Store or Google Play, or visit:
https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app

Registering for Online Services and the NHS App

To use online services and the NHS App, you must first create an NHS login.

You can do this online via the NHS website:
How to set up an NHS Login

Once you have created your NHS login, you can try to verify your identity online using photo ID (this allows immediate access to services such as viewing your record, ordering prescriptions and using the NHS App).

If you cannot verify online or need help

If you are unable to verify your identity online, do not wish to apply digitally, or experience difficulties at any stage, please contact the surgery for support.

You will need to attend the surgery in person so we can verify your identity and provide registration details. You will be asked to fill out our online services registration form.

When attending, please bring:

  • One form of photo ID (passport or driving licence)

If you do not have photo ID, alternative identification may be accepted (for example proof of address or other official documents). Our reception team will advise what is suitable.

Once verified, we will provide you with:

  • Linkage Key (also called Passphrase)

  • ODS Code (Organisation Code / Practice ID)

  • Account ID

These details can be used instead of uploading photo ID online to complete your registration.

You can then finish setting up your access via the NHS App or NHS website.
