Covid & Flu 2025
Parkwood Surgery will be running COVID-19 and influenza vaccination clinics for all eligible patients beginning 1st October 2025.
Invitation booking links and further information for both influenza-only and combined influenza/COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be distributed in September. To accommodate our patients’ varying schedules, clinics will be held on some weekdays as well as select Saturdays to provide flexible appointment options.
Our flu season will begin on Saturday 4th October. More information about our clinic times and days will be provided with your booking link; should you be unable to use our booking link, please call the surgery and a member of our team will be able to book you an appointment convenient to you.

What to Expect at Your Vaccination Appointment
Appointment Types:
Patients will be invited to book either an influenza-only or a combined influenza and COVID-19 appointment depending on their eligibility.
- Influenza-only appointments are scheduled for 3 minutes
- Combined influenza and COVID-19 appointments are scheduled for 5 minutes
- Child nasal flu appointments are scheduled for 8 minutes
Appointment Timing:
- We aim to vaccinate patients as close to their booked time as possible. However, please allow a 15 minute-window either side of your appointment to accommodate clinic flow.
What to Wear:
- Please wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to your upper arm.
- Remove outerwear (e.g. coats, jackets, scarves and cardigans) before entering the consultation room to keep the clinic running efficiently.
Parking and Access:
- Parking is limited. We encourage patients to walk to the surgery where possible.
- The Friends of Parkwood Surgery will be on site during our Saturday clinics to help manage traffic and assist with queues.
- If you have any accessibility concerns, please contact the surgery ahead of your appointment, or speak to a member of staff on the day.
Support for Carers:
- Our Carer’s Champion will be available during clinics to answer questions about becoming a carer and to provide any guidance you may need. For more information about becoming a carer, please see our Carers page.
Additional Information:
- If you are feeling unwell (especially with fever, cough, or symptoms of COVID-19), please do not attend your appointment and contact the surgery to reschedule.
- Children or dependents should only attend if they are being vaccinated – please arrange alternative care where possible.
- Please arrive on time, not early, to reduce crowding.
Housebound Patients:
- We will make arrangements to vaccinate housebound patients at home. If you or someone you care for is housebound and due a vaccination, there is no need to contact the surgery – we will be in touch directly to schedule a home visit. If you believe you or someone you care for are eligible for a housebound vaccination, please contact the surgery.
Learning Disabilites:
For information about getting vaccinated if you or a member of your family have a Learning Disability, please refer to our Learning Disabilities Winter Campaign 2025 leaflet.
